Adiós Amigos!

It's time to say good-bye to Alcúdia and I genuinely hope to return one day and do some more exploring...until then adiós amigos!

Dinner for Two

Salmon pasta - Backstory

Wanting to try somewhere different on our last night, we discovered this quaint little restaurant hidden away in the corner away from the main streets of the town. We asked for recommendations from our waiter (who turned out to be the owner) and he recommended this salmon pasta dish. After talking with Felipé it turns out his wife creates all the dishes on the menu and they are tried and tested by himself and their children before being offered to the public. Just goes to show that you can find love and inspiration anywhere

Hidropark

Straw huts & Palm trees > Umbrellas

Being a lover of all things watermelon I was eager to try this out after spotting numerous people with it. However I was sorely disappointed and this is by far the most unpleasant ice-cream/lolly I have ever had (don't be fooled by it's appearance).

'Cliff Jumping'

video

If you ever get the chance to jump off a cliff (I use the term cliff loosely), my advice to you is do it! For those that know me, I would be the last person you'd think of to attempt something like this, I'm so glad I pshyced myself up and did it. Although I don't think I could have lived with myself after seeing 8 year old kids backflip off the ledge without a care in the world ✌

The water was crystal clear and extremely salty ( I may have accidentally drank some when I jumped in...)

Tapas & Paella

Fresh food is always the best, and being based on the coastline meant that all the seafood was locally sourced - in other words, delicioso!

Seafood Paella.
Another relaxing day spent exploring the town with walks along the beach; words cannot explain how much fun it was to play in the tide, it made me feel like a child again!
Although Alcúdia is a small town there is a great variety of bistros and restaurants to choose from, we wanted to make the most of the fresh ingredients on offer so seafood was our no.1 choice for the majority of our meals. Despite specials such as paella and tapas being pretty much everywhere, each place was unique and had their own stamp of individuality and interpretation of the dish - food baby is steadily growing! 😋

Majorca . Alcúdia

Alcúdia was the perfect escape from the stress of everyday life, the town's locals are friendly and welcoming to visitors. September obviously isn't peak season for holidays so we were able to explore the streets of this town without the usual stress of people pollution.
